Texas tax free weekend: Those who have returned to school for another year can save some money with the upcoming tax-free weekend.

Texas will have the tax-free weekend from today, August 9, and will continue till Saturday, August 11.
During these days, school materials, clothes, and backpacks that cost less than $100 will not include any tax. This means that you won’t have to pay tax on those things.

This tax-free weekend has been going on for 25 years and allows Texas citizens to save money at stores that offer back-to-school times deals.
The Texas Comptroller’s office reports that during this year’s sales tax weekend, Texas people saved around $143.4 million by not paying any state taxes.
Malls such as Cielo Vista Mall in El Paso, Texas will hold Back-to-School events with fashion shows and other activities for Texas citizens.
The holiday saves shoppers about $8 for every $100 they spend.

Which are the items that not will be taxed?
All items under $100 are eligible and won’t include tax. There is no limits on the number of eligible things that people can buy.
