Captain Vikram Batra PVC was a soldier in the Indian Army. He was born on September 9, 1974, and died on July 7, 1999.

Vikram Batra Early Life, Education and Childhood
Batra was born in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. He was a smart student who did well in many sports, such as table tennis, karate, and other sports.
He passed the board exams for Class XII in 1992 and then went to DAV College in Chandigarh, where he joined the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Air Wing.
He was chosen to learn how to parachute and later joined the Army Wing of the NCC as a cadet.
He was an NCC cadet and marched in the Republic Day parade in 1994. He said he wanted to join the Indian Army. His grandpa on his mom’s side was also in the Indian Army.
He was chosen to join the merchant navy at a Hong Kong shipping business in 1995, but he changed his mind because he wanted to do something more exciting.
In 1995, he got his bachelor’s degree and then went to Panjab University in Chandigarh to start an MA English study.
He passed the CDS test in 1996 and was chosen for an interview at Allahabad with the Services Selection Board (SSB). He got his MA in English after a year of study before starting at the Indian Military Academy.
The fact that Batra did well in school and volunteered with his country’s troops shows how dedicated and determined he is.

Vikram Batra Career
In June 1996, Batra started at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), and he finished in December 1997. He became a member of the 13th battalion of the Jammu and Kashmir Rifles (13 JAK Rif).
Batra was sent to Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, to train with his regiment. He was then sent to Sopore, which has a lot of militant action, for his first assignment.
The Young Officer’s Course he finished was in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh. In October 1998, he joined his company in Sopore.
While Batra was stationed in Sopore, he ran into several militants and one of his guys was killed by a bullet.
Because he thought the bullet was aimed at him, he told his men to shoot the terrorists, which killed all of them.
Batra took a Commando Course in Belgaum, Karnataka, in January 1999 and got the best grade possible—the Instructor’s Grade.
Batra always went to the Neugal Cafe when he had time off and came back to Palampur. When he got back to Sopore, he was told to move to Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, because war had broken out.
Batra told his folks that he was moving and told them not to worry about him.
Vikram Batra Family and Siblings
He was born to Girdhari Lal Batra (Father) and Kamal Kanta Batra (Mother). Both of his parents worked for the government as school principals. His mother was a teacher.
He was born fourteen minutes before his brother Vishal, and was the older of the two boys.
Their mother, who was a devoted follower of Rama, gave them the names “Luv” (Vikram) and “Kush” (Vishal), after the twin sons of the Hindu god Rama, One sister was Seema and the other was Nutan.
Vikram Batra Death
He died on July 7, 1999, while fighting Pakistani troops in the war. He was 24 years old. The Param Vir Chakra, which is the greatest award for bravery in war, was given to him after his death.
