Typhoon Gaemi traveled to southeastern China on Thursday after churning across the Taiwan Strait, the Typhoon triggered the seasonal rain and landslide in the Philippines on its way to Taiwan which killed 20 people. local media in China has reported that Typhoon Gaemi will bring heavy rain to central Jiangxi and Henan provinces. In Guangdong province, the most populated place in China public transport system has been suspended for today. Typhoon Gaemi is the third most powerful typhoon that clashed with China this year and caused landfall in Fujian province at 7:50 pm (11:50 GMT) on Thursday. Before its arrival, 240,800 people in Fujian were evacuated. Despite its weakening because of its landfall in Fujian.
Typhoon Gaemi is been compared to Typhoon Doksuri last year which triggered floods as far as Bejing in the North and caused a loss of at least 30 billion. These circumstances are pointing towards climate change as China is the biggest emitter of greenhouse gases. And the storm is expected to unleash a heavy rainfall that may cause flood in at least 10 Chinese provinces in the upcoming days.
