The Three US Prisoners Arrived in the US: The three prisoners who were released from Russia have landed in the US by aircraft.

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are there at Joint Base Andrews outside Washington where the aircraft landed and greeted them.

The three prisoners include Wall Street Journal Reporter Evan Gershkovich, Russia-American Journalist Alsu Kurmasheva, and Former U.S. Marine Paul Whelan.

On Thursday, a total of 24 prisoners were exchanged that took place between Russia, Germany, the US, and several other countries. It was the biggest-ever prisoner exchange that took place since the Cold War.

However, as soon as the three arrived they were greeted by President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris with a lovely handshake and hug.

Their families were also waiting at the Joint Base Andrews outside Washington and as they arrived they ran towards and hugged them, they seemed very happy to see them.

The Wall Street Journal Reporter Evan Gershkovich was imprisoned for 1492 days and as he arrived he was greeted and hugged by his father, Mikhail Gershkovich, and other family members, they all looked very happy to see him.

Former U.S. Marine Paul Whelan was imprisoned for false accusations in Russia for 4 years. He was greeted by his family members with a lovely hug.

The US-Russian journalist Alsu Kurmasheva as soon as she arrived, she was greeted and hugged by the President and Vice president and then ran towards her daughters Miriam Butorin and Bibi Butorinas at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.

These three prisoners were wrongly held in Russia and two of them were accused of spying.

After this, President Joe Biden while addressing a press conference gave special acknowledgement to Germany and Slovenia.

In the press conference, he said, “The toughest call on this one was for other countries because I asked them to do things that were against their self-interest, especially Germany and Slovenia.”

ABC News reported that when Biden was asked by the reporters whether such exchanges like these would expect Americans to be taken abroad, he replied, “That’s been the case for all history. My job is to make sure, No. 1, they don’t get them, and if they do, we get them back.”

However, the Biden administration reported that the three Americans and their families would be taken on a flight to Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, where they would get post-isolation support at San Antonio Brooke Army Medical Center.
