Taylor Swift’s Vienna ‘Eras Tour’ shows canceled: Taylor Swift’s upcoming show in Vienna has been canceled after two suspects were arrested by the Austria police in an operations conducted on Wednesday.
Barracuda Music, an Austrian music group in a social media post on its Instagram handle wrote, “ Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Vienna shows canceled due to government officials confirmation of the planned terrorist attack.”
They further added, “Following the confirmation by government officials about a planned terrorist attack at the Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three planned shows for the safety of everyone. All tickets will be refunded automatically within the next 10 business days.”
Swift’s official website also says that the Vienna shows have been canceled and all the tickets will be refunded.
According to the media reports, the local police conducted a large operation of around 1500 police officers in the Neunkirchen district of Austria, where they arrested two people who were reportedly planning attacks on the Taylor Swift concert in Vienna on Thursday.

Police spokesman Johann Baumschlager informed the new channels that a guy was arrested and his house was thoroughly investigated by special officers for hours. However, the special officers found several chemical materials that were seized by the police.

Johann Baumschlager further added that some nearby houses and a part of a retirement home had to be evacuated, and for the search, roads were blocked in several parts.
On Wednesday, Franz Ruf who is the General Director of Public Security in Austria along with Vienna Police President Gerhard Pürstl said that an allegedly 19-year-old boy was arrested in Austria in the morning and another man was taken into custody in Vienna in the afternoon.
Der Standard, an Austrian newspaper claimed that investigators assume one of the suspects became radicalized online and swore allegiance to the current leader of the Islamic State (ISIS).
Another Austrian newspaper, Kronen Zeitung, reported that among the suspects one of them is an Austrian and has a North Macedonian background, he lived in Ternitz with his family.
The official reports stated that two men did “specific preparatory actions for a terrorist attack,” and the 19-year-old boy planned to attack the Swift concerts.
Gerhard Pürstl, an Austrian police officer reported that all the Taylor Swift concerts that is scheduled for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at Ernst Happel Stadium will take place with very strict security.
