Texas Health and Human Services provides TANF to low-income families experiencing economic hardship once a year.
Benefits include cash payments for food, clothing, housing, and other essentials. Luxury items or non-essentials do not qualify.
A once-in-a-lifetime payment option is also available to family members caring for related children, and naturally, at $1,000, this will be higher than the monthly payment.
