Basketball was a demonstration sport in the 1904 and 1924 Olympics, the game was officially added as a medal sport in 1936 at the St Louis Olympic Games. Team USA is set to win a fifth straight medal in the event however they lost their last international medal to Canada.

After the loss of FIBA Grant Hill chose a whole new squad for the Paris Olympics 2024 with just two players Anthony Edwards and Tyrese Haliburton returning from the team. the team for the event was announced in April and the highlight of the team was LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Steph Curry.

- Group B: France, Germany, Japan, Brazil.
- Group C: Serbia, South Sudan, Puerto Rico, United States
Men’s Olympic Basketball Format
12 teams will be divided into 3 groups, The Top 2 from each group and 2 top 3rd place of the team will progress to the next round. then a draw will take place to determine the quarterfinal . Then the winner of the quarterfinal will progress to the semifinal.
Men’s Team Basketball Matches Venue
Group matches will be played in Pierre Mauroy Stadium in Lille. Knockout rounds will be held at the Bercy Arena in Paris
