Katie Ledecky Wins her 8th Gold Olympics Medal: Katie has become the most gold medal-winning female athlete in the USA after defending her reign in 1500m freestyle on Wednesday Paris Olympics 2024. For Katie, this is the 2nd medal she won in the Olympics. She secured a comfortable by finishing more than 10 seconds ahead of the runner-up. On Saturday she secured the bronze medal in 800m freestyle. She is now a part of the female swimmers from the US who won the most gold alongside Jenny Thompson, Dara Torres, and Natalie Coughlin.

“I’m just so honored to represent our country and those women that have set the standard for so many years (that) have inspired me,” Katie said.”They inspired me when I first started swimming so thank you to them, thank you to everyone that has supported me all these years.” She added, “I’m happy with the time, happy with how it felt, the happiness and the joy, it just comes out.”

Katie also set a new Olympic record of 15:30.02 in 1500m freestyle swimming. She swam like a duck, so fast that no one was able to catch up to her til the last moment. And now Katie owns 4 Olympic gold medals in 4 different games and now she has been undefeated in this format for 14 years .
