Julien Alfred was born in the town of Ciceron in the south of Castries, which is the capital of Saint Lucia. In 2013, She did her studies at Leon Hess Comprehensive Secondary School in Saint Lucia and passed out in 2015.
In 2015, she attended Saint Catherine High in Jamaica and finished her higher studies in 2018. To pursue a bachelor’s degree in Youth & Community Studies, Julien Alfred joined the University of Texas in the United States and while there she focused and gave time to both studies and sports.

In 2015, Julien Alfred won the U15 title in Central America and the Caribbean and was named as Saint Lucia’s Junior Sportswoman of the Year.
In 2017, she won the 100-meter race as a Junior athlete at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Nassau, Bahama. Alfred also came in second place at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
In 2022, at the NCAA Division I Indoor Championships, Julien Alfred set the national record and was the champion in the 60m event. At the Big 12 Conference Championships, she became the top 30 fastest women ever, setting a record of 10.81 s in preliminaries.

In 2023, she became the world’s fourth fastest woman by setting a new world record in the 200 m event. In the Istvan Gyulai Memorial women’s 100-meter race, she won the race with a time of 10.89 seconds.
At the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow, she won the women’s 60-meter race. She also came second in the 100-meter race at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon.
In London, at the Diamond League meeting, she set a new national record of 21.86 seconds in the 200m race and also won the 100-meter race in Monaco.
