California Guaranteed Income Program: The deadline to apply for monthly cash injections of $500 is just over a week away.

Residents of specific areas in California will be eligible for support under a new program based on their income and location.
As part of the initiative, the Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission (EOC) will provide monthly cash payments for one year without any repayment obligations to 150 households in “vulnerable communities”.

Eligibility for $500 Monthly Payments: Who is eligible to apply?
Individuals residing in Huron with the ZIP code 93234 or southwest Fresno with the ZIP code 93706 are eligible to apply for $500 Monthly Payments.
The applicant must also be 18 years or older, pregnant or have a child under five, and have an annual income of 80 percent or less of the area’s median income, which in Huron is $35,103 and in Fresno is $30,615.

California Guaranteed Income Program: Deadline
You have just over a week left to apply for the California Guaranteed Income Program. Applications close on May 15.
$500 Monthly payments program participants must meet specific income criteria and live in either southwest Fresno City or Huron.
Providing regular cash payments for a set period of time, guaranteed income programs target specific demographics affected by poverty and income disparities.
A participant can spend the money however they like, unlike federal or state benefits such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Programs (SNAP).

What you need to do to apply for the California Guaranteed Income Program
In addition to online applications for California Guaranteed Income Program, in-person applications are also available.
In-person applications can be submitted at two specific locations: Fresno EOC’s Local Conservation Corps at 1805 E California Ave in Fresno, and Huron Senior Center at 16900 5th Street in Huron.
The online application portal provides a straightforward way to submit applications remotely.
There is no guarantee that you will be accepted into the California Guaranteed Income Program despite the easy access to application venues.
A spokesperson from Fresno EOC told Newsweek that participants will be selected by lottery because of high demand.
