CalFresh, California’s version of SNAP, provides monthly food assistance to low-income individuals and families.
An electronic benefits transfer (EBT) card, which works like a debit card at food stores and farmers’ markets that accept it, gives out these benefits.
Each CalFresh user is given a case number that is used to find out exactly when their benefits are loaded onto their EBT card within the first ten days of each month.
This payment date is determined by the last digit of the case number. For example, if the last digit is ‘1,’ the benefits will be available on the 1st of every month.
