Ángel Salazar Died at 69: Found Dead on His Bed

Salazar was found dead on the bed while sleeping in his friend's Brooklyn home, he was there for the weekends. Earlier this month Salazar performed in  Laugh Factory in Reno,  Nev.

Ángel Salazar Died at 69: Ángel Salazar Cuban stand-up comedian better known for his role in Brian De Palma’s iconic gangster film “Scarface”. Ann Wingsong Sqalzar’s closest Friend told TMZ that Salazar was found dead on the bed while sleeping in his friend’s Brooklyn home, he was there for the weekends.

Wingsong Said they went to check on Salzar in his room where they found his dead Body. The cause of Salzaars death has not yet been disclosed but it is said that he suffered from a heart condition.

Salzar was a Cuban-born comedian who swam to Guantanamo Bay to reach USA Naval Base in his teenage then he flew to Miami after which he settled in New York where he was put in Foster care in the Bronx. Salzar Performed in the First show when he was 18 in an open mic show, Salzar himself told about that incident. He said he had 10 minutes to perform  “And I think I had one joke. The rest of the time I said, ‘Check it out,’ over and over again.” Salazar said. Check it out later became his catchphrase

he later moved on to acting. His most famous character is Chi Chi from Scarface. He had an appearance in Last Comic Standing and many HBO Comedy specials. His other notable movies are Punchline (1988) and Carlito’s Way (1993).

Mr Salzaar lived between Florida and New York. Earlier this month Salazar performed in  Laugh Factory in Reno,  Nev. Salzar was respected by his peers, friends, co-stars, and family members, comedian Jim Norton said: “Auditions were typically done during the Friday late show, which meant you could get stuck following Ángel Salazar or some other guy who killed so hard the walls would shake.”
