A 5.2 Magnitude Earthquake Near Bakersfield: On Tuesday, a 5.2 magnitude earthquake was reported near Bakersfield, California, and was felt all over Southern California. The earthquake created a commotion among the citizens living in the area.
As per the U.S. Geological Survey, the 5.2 magnitude first took place around 9:09 p.m. with a depth of 7.3 miles. The earthquake was strong in the Mettler area and southwest of Lamont in Kern County which is about 90 miles from downtown Los Angeles.
In a tweet, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said, “A preliminary magnitude 5.3 earthquake near Mettler, CA was felt in the Los Angeles region this evening. Our @LAFD has activated to conduct its routine survey of the city and assess for any damages. City teams will continue to monitor any impacts.”

Los Angeles authorities and communities are currently investigating for any damages to the infrastructure.
The earthquake shockwave was also felt in Ventura, Santa Clarita, Camarillo, Encino, Hollywood, Woodland Hills, Santa Monica, Simi Valley, and North Hollywood areas.
It was also felt in the middle of the baseball match between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies at Dodger Stadium, but no one in the crowd wasn’t able to notice the earthquake.
The Kern County Fire Department shared a post in which they informed that 106 fire stations would check out the nearby areas for any casualties.

Caltech’s Seismological Laboratory reported a total of 31 aftershocks with magnitudes up to 4.5.
The Los Angeles Fire Department in a press release said, “There are currently no initial reports of structural damage or injuries. An update will be provided once LAFD Earthquake Mode is complete.”
Los Angeles Metro wrote in a tweet, “Good evening. There was a 5.3 magnitude earthquake at 9:09 tonight north of the LA metro area that was felt in many parts of our service area.”
They further said, “Trains will be running slower as per our earthquake procedure to check for any damage. Thanks for riding and your patience.”

The United States Geological Survey also reported that people who felt the earthquakes are requested to the department website.
